Your mobile device can send text messages (Short Message Service—SMS) and multimedia messages (Multimedia Messaging Service—MMS).
When you add an image, sound file, or video clip to an SMS message, the message will be converted to an MMS message.
When you are viewing a conversation with a contact that has a phone number, you can use the Direct call gesture. If you place your device to your ear while viewing the conversation, your device will place a call to the contact.
To add an attachment to your message, touch Attach and select one of the following options:

While composing a message, touch Menu to access these additional messaging options (options may vary if it is a text or picture message):
When you receive an MMS message, you can save the attachments to your device and access them from other applications.
If the message has multiple attachments, you can save all of them at once.
Note: You can also touch and hold the message thread from the conversations list to quickly delete a single message thread.
From the conversations list, touch Menu to access the following options:
