SAMSUNG HDD and DVD/CD-ROM Drive Exchange Return Authorization (XRA)

Warning: Samsung will inspect the HDD and if its damage was caused by neglect, misuse or other forces outside of Samsung's control, it will be returned unrepaired through freight collect.

Always back up your data! When a drive is replaced, SAMSUNG is not responsible for loss or recovery of data.

Exchange service procedure

1. 1. To exchange a drive, use the Exchange Return Authorization (XRA) form below, fill in your name, address, telephone and fax numbers, list the model number, serial number, defect code, purchase date submit the completed form.
   
2. 2. After verifying the information provided and determining that the drive is covered under warranty, SAMSUNG will issue an XRA Number, e-mail the form back to you.
   
3. 3. When you receive the XRA number, securely pack the drive in an anti-static bag and an approved shipping container, include the completed XRA form, and ship insurance and freight pre-paid to the SAMSUNG address on the XRA form.
4. 4. Send only the drive, do not send disks, mounting hardware, or manuals.
5. 5. Remember to write the XRA number on the outside of the box, or the shipment will be refused and returned unopened.
6. 6. After we receive your original drive, we will send the replacement drive to your return address listed on the XRA form. Typically, you should receive the replacement drive about 2 or 3 days after SAMSUNG receives the original drive.

The above procedures are for warranty service and the customer will be responsible for any costs associated with non-warranty conditions. SAMSUNG reserves the right to make final decisions regarding problem determination and the appropriate service option. Verification of warranty coverage is required prior to the completion of service. Please refer to your SAMSUNG limited warranty statement for complete terms and conditions, as some models have different terms and conditions.
