If the display panel will not respond, turn off the child lock. Turning off child lock usually requires the use of one of the multi-function buttons or touch pads depending on what model you have. The images below show several different styles of Samsung display panels.
Locating the Child Lock button or touch pad:
To locate the Child Lock button or touch pad, find the word(s) "Lock" or "Child Lock."
Activating/Deactivating Child Lock:
Generally, you will need to hold a multi-function button/touch pad in order to activate or deactivate Child Lock. The multi-function buttons are buttons that serve dual purposes. Take the "Ice Off / Lock" button on the RF267* for example. If you touch the button once the ice maker turns on/off. If you hold it for 3 full seconds child lock is activated or deactivated.
Locate the button or touch pad on your display with the word(s) "Lock" or "Child Lock" labeled on or above it. In most cases the display panel will have "Hold 3 sec" on the button/touch pad to activate or deactivate Child Lock. Do not count while trying to activate or deactivate Child Lock as you can very easily count too fast and release which will do nothing. Simply hold until you hear the chime and see the Child Lock icon light up or turn off.
