Transfer Contacts From Your PC

If you currently keep your contacts in Outlook^® and want to transfer them to your device, you can export contacts from Outlook to a comma separated value (.csv) file and import those contacts into your Google™ Account for synchronization to your device.

Export Contacts from Outlook

To export contacts in Outlook 2010:

1. Open Outlook and click on File > Options > Advanced > Export.
   
2. Click on the option to Export to a file and click Next.
   
3. Click on the option for Comma Separated Values (Windows).
   
4. Select the contacts folder that you want to export from.
   
5. Give your contacts file a name and click Browse to select the locations to save the file.
   
6. Review the information on the screen. If you have any custom fields in your contacts, you can click on Map Custom Fields to select how the export should handle them. When you are ready, click Finish.
   

Import Contacts to Google Account

To import your contacts into your Google Account:

1. Open your Gmail™ inbox and click on the Gmail option on the left to select Contacts.
   
2. Click the More button at the top of your contacts list and click Import.
3. Click the Browse button to find and select the CSV file you created using the steps above.
   
4. When you have selected your file, click Import.
5. Your contacts can now be synchronized to your device by editing the contacts sync option for your Google Account on your device. Touch Applications > Settings > Accounts and sync.
6. Touch your Google Account to edit the sync settings.
7. Touch Sync Contacts to synchronize the contacts that you just imported to your device.
