Samsung Media Hub Q&A

Q: What is Media Hub and how do I use it on my device?

A: Samsung Media Hub provides access to premium TV and movie content. Availability of content ranges from next-day TV (episode is available for purchase on Media Hub the day after it airs on TV), new-release movies (select titles available the day they are released on DVD), and library. This digital content may be purchased or rented. Note: The Media Hub service and usage are based on service availability.

Q: How do I download a movie or TV show on my device?

A: You need to first purchase/rent the movie. Once your transaction completes, touch the download button to begin your download immediately. You must be on Wi-Fi® or 4G coverage to download content. You may browse and purchase content while on a 3G or 4G network.

Q: Where is a movie kept once it is purchased/rented?

A: You can find your movies in the "My Media" section of Media Hub.

Q: How do I access the program via multiple devices?

A: You have to log in to your account on the new device through Media Hub and re-download your content. You can do this so long as the content has not expired.

Q: What happens if I need to replace my device? Is my content replaceable?

A: Yes, your content is not tied to the device you are using, but rather to your Media Hub account. You can ALWAYS log in and re-download the items you are authorized to. There is no need to remember to back up your content.

Q: How do I stop others from making purchases on my account?

A: Just like your email address, your Media Hub login information is extremely sensitive. Never give out your login information if you do not want other people accessing it. To prevent inadvertent access to your account (through simple access of your device by another person), you are automatically logged out every 20 minutes. This does not affect your ability to browse through the store but prevents you from editing account information and making purchases.

Q: Are all instances of shared content subject to the original rental expiration date?

A: Yes, there is only one rental period.

Q: Does rented/purchased content take up internal memory space? If no, where does it live?

Other Media Hub Information

  • You may begin watching content as it downloads. Your content will be ready for offline viewing once you have downloaded and played at least the first minute or so of a movie (time to allow for the license to be acquired). You will be able to view only as much as you have downloaded onto the handset when in offline mode. You do not need to have downloaded the entire movie to start your viewing experience.
  • Depending on the studio and title, new releases may be available on the day of DVD release or soon after.
  • The actual download of the media cannot be normally performed over a 3G network. The content will need to be downloaded through another type of connection such as Wi-Fi or 4G. If a device is moved outside of the access point, downloading will be suspended. You can resume your download once you are within range of a Wi-Fi or 4G connection.
  • Rentals must be watched within 24 to 48 hours of start of playback, depending on the title. You will know how long you will have the content for before you purchase it. Stopping, restarting, or pausing rented content does not extend available media time. Rentals can be watched an unlimited number of times within the hour span.
  • When content is purchased, an electronic receipt will be sent to the email address registered to the account.
  • Tax, if applicable, will be applied to your purchase. Whether or not tax is added is determined by the billing address associated with your credit card account.
  • Any content obtained through Media Hub cannot be played through output of the phone to another electronic display (e.g., AV to TV, DLNA to TV) due to studio requirements.
  • The content is not tied to the device but rather the account. Simply log on and re-download the content on the new device. This is helpful if you acquire a replacement device. Due to this design, content does not need to be backed up.
  • Touch the Search Key to bring up a field to search the Media Hub library for content.
