Music to your ears!

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 15 December, 2015 – Great news for Samsung users. First, we had apps and games, then we had books. Now we have Music!

Google Play Music has launched in South Africa for Android devices. The service gives Samsung Galaxy users a pass to a huge library of music — from all the major record companies, as well as top local and independent labels.

This exciting offering can be downloaded onto any Samsung Galaxy device, in order to improve the way customers experience their devices. "The service completes Samsung's own ecosystem that has been designed to improve the way customers experience the Galaxy devices. Samsung creates products that are highly personalised and fit into a dynamic lifestyle," said Craige Fleischer, Director of Integrated Mobility at Samsung Electronics SA.

"The Samsung ecosystem started just over two years ago with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and brought with it free Wi-Fi, professional training by South Africa's top athletes and free screen replacement, to name just a few."

Google Play Music lets users create an ad-free, interactive radio station from any song or artist they like. Music fans can add, remove or re-order a station and see what's coming next. Or they can browse recommendations from the expert music team and explore songs by genre. The "Listen Now" tab puts popular artists and radio stations front and centre, so customers can start listening the minute they open the library.

When millions of songs just aren't enough, Google Play Music lets users combine the collection with the customer's preferred collection. Customers can store 50,000 songs from their own collection for free online and listen to them alongside the All Access catalogue on any Android device, or via the web at play.google.com. Users can even "pin" specific albums and playlists songs so they're available when offline.

With today's launch, Google Play moves one step closer to becoming the ultimate digital entertainment destination, where South Africans can find, enjoy and share their favourite apps, games, books, movies, magazines and music on their Android phone or tablet.

Users will be pleased to find enhanced sound capabilities with all next-generation Galaxy smartphones, as these are equipped with advanced technologies developed with music lovers in mind. Music consumers want higher resolution audio on their mobile devices that provides rich and clear audio – with Samsung, the power of sound is realised.
