Ice maker is one of the most helpful features of the refrigerator. Your fridge is essential to supply the home with food but when it comes to day-to-day convenience, the ice maker is an important part of most of our lives.

It might not be obvious when the ice maker turns off. If you have a digital display on your refrigerator, you can access the ice maker control through this panel.

Press the ice maker or power buttons, and press and hold to be sure that the ice maker was turned off electronically.

Another issue could be the thermostat of the fridge. if your freezer is too cold or too warm, the ice maker will not work properly.

Find your thermostat and determine if it also applies to the freezer. If your ice is soft, make the freezer colder. If your ice is frosty or won’t fall, set it just a little warmer.

Ice stuck in the mold is one of the most common problems with ice makers, making the ice misshaped or fractured. The solution is simple, turn off the ice maker (flip up the fill bar) and use the warm water to melt the stuck ice.

Ice makers use a filter to stop particles in the water from contaminating the ice or making it taste bad. If you have never replaced the filter, it can become clogged over time and block the flow of water into the ice maker.
