[Galaxy S5] Why Kies/Smart Switch don't work when transferring the S-note from old device?
This is not a defect. Samsung modified the concept for the S-memo in Galaxy S5 making Memo application to be available only by default.
The Galaxy S5 still supports the specific S Note application although it does not come by default with Galaxy S5. As it is not available by default, it causes compatibility issue with the files created in S-memo or S-Note from older models.
Thus, to use the S-Note or S-Memo files which there were already, please install
the S Note application from Galaxy Essential and transfer the files with Kies or Smart
Switch Mobile app.
You can check the Memo or Note files via S Note app.
To download the S-Note app, please follow the steps below.
1. Find the Galaxy Essential Widget and tap it.
2. Select S-Note
3. Tap Update
4. Check S-Note in application list if available after installation.
