Setting ‘Internet Explorer’ as your 'Default Program'.

 

1. Edit ‘View by’ settings to 'large Icons'.

 

2. Go to 'Control Panel'→ 'Default Program'→ 'Set your default programs'

    in sequence.

 

3. Navigate through your programs on the left and click 'Internet Explorer'.

 

4. Click ‘Set this program as default’ then click 'OK'.

 

5. Go to Windows start screen→’All Apps',

    right click on 'Internet Explorer' icon.

 

6. Click 'Pin to taskbar'.

Turning off ‘Airplane mode’

 

1. Open the Charm Bar, click 'Settings'.

 

2. Click network icon.

 

3. Turn the ‘Airplane mode’ at the top to ‘Off'.

Editing network settings to ‘Enable’

 

1. Open Control Panel, edit ‘View by’ settings to 'Category' then click

    'Network and Internet'.

 

2. ‘Control Panel’→ 'Network and Internet' → Click 'Network and

    Sharing Center'.

 

3. Click 'Change adapter settings'.

 

4. Right click on both 'Wi-Fi' and 'Ethernet' icon then click 'Enable'

    respectively.

Resetting ‘Internet Explorer’ configuration

 

1. Right click on ‘Internet Explorer’ to click ‘Run as Administrator’.

 

2. On ‘Internet Options’, click ‘Advanced’ tab.

 

3. On ‘Internet Explorer’, click ‘Reset' in ‘Reset Internet Explorer

    Settings’ menu.

Selecting ‘Use recommended security and compatibility settings’

 

1. Switch to ‘Desktop Mode’ and click ‘Internet Explorer’ icon.

 

2. On ‘Internet Options’, click ‘Advanced’ tab before clicking

    'Trusted sites'.

 

3. Click 'Sites' button.

 

4. Enter the URL of your 'Trusted Sites', click 'Add' then click 'Close'.

 

5. On ‘Internet Explorer’, press 'Alt + T' key, and click

    ‘Compatibility View settings’.

 

6. Select the ‘Display all websites in Compatibility View’ check box,

    and click ‘Close’ button.

Changing options for launching ‘Internet Explorer’.

 

1. Switch to ‘Desktop Mode’ and click ‘Internet Explorer’ icon.

 

2. On ‘Internet Options’, click ‘Advanced’ tab.

 

3. Choose ‘Enable Enhanced Protected Mode’ and uncheck the option,

    click 'OK' button.

 

4. Press ‘Windows logo key+ R’ to open the ‘Run’ dialog box.

    Type in ‘REGedit’.

 

5. Remove the following registry entries if the value is '0'.

    Registry path 1: HKEY_CURRENT_USER → SOFTWARE →

    Microsoft → Internet Explorer → Main

    Registry path 2: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE → SOFTWARE →

    Microsoft → Internet Explorer → Main

 

6. Name of the registry key: TabProcGrowth

 

7. Create the following key in the registry

    Registry path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE → SOFTWARE →

    Microsoft → Internet Explorer → Main

    Name of the registry key: x86AppPath

    Name of the registry key:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.exe
