Samsung Australia launches high performance QLED ultra-wide curved monitor

49-inch CHG90 QLED Monitor offers immersive experience and the ultimate in Samsung panel innovation

Samsung Electronics Australia has today announced the Samsung CHG90 quantum dot QLED monitor, a 49-inch curved panel designed to provide an incredibly rich and immersive visual experience that provide a PC gaming and high-performance monitor experience like never before offered by Samsung.

The Samsung CHG90 is a 49-inch super ultra-wide 32:9 HDR (High Dynamic Range) monitor that will provide Australian customers with some of the best panel and design innovation from Samsung and in a beautifully crafted form. The monitor has a 3840 x 1080 resolution and an 1800R curvature to immerse users in high production visual content – whether it be the latest games, design files, multimedia or spreadsheets.

“The Samsung CHG90 monitor will provide a rich and immersive experience for users through the combination of our QLED panel technology, brilliantly curved design, as well as fantastic performance with support for HDR and fast response time,” said Paul Sharpe, Director for Enterprise and Small Business, Samsung Electronics Australia. “This monitor breaks new ground for Samsung and our product portfolio designed to support the requirements of the most demanding gamers as well as business users.”

“We believe the level of immersion through the vertically aligned curved design, the wide field of view due to the size of the panel, as well as its QLED pixel technology, will help change the way Australians think about monitors, whether they gamers or at work,” Sharpe added.

No more dual-monitor inconvenience
The size and design of the CHG90 produces an experience that would reflect similarly to operating two 27-inch 16:9 monitors side by side, providing space for rich and detailed working documents. The curved design of the monitor is enabled through vertically aligned (VA) panel technology.

High performance and speed A key feature of the CHG90 is the rapid 144Hz screen refresh rate, which provides a flawless and smooth visual experience that can also be adjusted to 60Hz/120Hz when required. Other features include a 1ms (MPRT) response time, realistic and lifelike colours with Quantum dot and HDR technology, and a game mode option.

The ultimate in Samsung gaming performance

The 32:9 super ultra-wide screen is the perfect companion for multitaskers. Gamers won’t have to worry about multi-monitor set-ups: with no bezels impeding the view and a single power cable for minimal clutter, gamers can switch between their games, web forums and chat pages seamlessly. In addition, the Easy Setting Box enables gamers to partition the screen or display multiple screens of different sizes with just one click, and the Picture-by-Picture functionality allows them to connect and view input sources without degrading the original image quality.

The CHG90 is sleek and stylish, featuring a matte black body on top of a circle stand – a minimalist design that is designed to eliminate distractions, allowing gamers to be fully immersed in the game. The monitor features a hinge with ergonomic design, height adjustments, swivel, tilt and VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) mounting. The CHG90 supports two HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) ports, DisplayPort and audio out connectivity options. In addition, it has a USB hub for added convenience.

The CHG90 will be available from early November from Harvey Norman and selected retailers, with an RRP of $2,499.95.
