Samsung invites entrepreneurial Australians to take part in new skills-based workshops

For a large number of Australians, the traditional nine-to-five isn’t enough, with many choosing to take on a second job or side hustle that enables them to follow their passion. Samsung has partnered with General Assembly to rally behind these ambitious Australians, encouraging them to take a ‘Day of Note’, which will see them participate in a series of workshops and events championing productivity, innovation, and creativity. 

With the support of agency partners Leo Burnett, The Projects, We Are Social and Edelman, Days of Note is designed to demonstrate Samsung’s commitment to improving Australians’ lives through meaningful innovation. The program gives Australians access to a selection of short courses designed to help unleash their productivity, offering over 130 hours of training absolutely free. This robust schedule has been designed to give Aussies quick, snackable skills that they can learn to kick-start their ideas, passion projects or side hustles. 

The workshops will feature over 60 individual points of interest across a month-long program, which has been designed to empower people with the information, resources, and space they need to transform their ideas into reality. 

“At Samsung, we’re dedicated to helping Australians achieve more than they ever thought possible,” said Danielle Palmer, Marketing Director, Samsung Electronics Australia. “By working closely with our partners we’ve been able to develop a unique program that helps upskills Australian entrepreneurs, demonstrating the benefits our mobile technology has on their hectic lives. “Our Days of Note program will empower the next generation of Australian startups to defy their own barriers to progress to do what they can’t.” 

Samsung sees partnering with institutions like General Assembly as a way to provide further opportunities for its customers and Note loyalists. Starting from September 10th, Days of Note’s bespoke workshops will run twice daily from Monday to Saturday at the Days of Note Hub within WeWork’s offices in Sydney’s Pyrmont. The workshops will cover ‘Success in the digital age’, ‘Design thinking 101’, ‘From problem to prototype’, ‘How to win at UX’, ‘Content marketing workout’, and ‘Introduction to coding’. 

“Talk to almost anyone these days and they’ll tell you about a start-up or side hustle idea they have brewing. So these workshops, powered by Samsung and General Assembly, are tailor-made to help people turn that niggling idea into a reality. Plus, the courses are a great way to demonstrate the Galaxy Note9, the phone that is powerful enough to run a business from,” Nigel Clark, Creative Director, Leo Burnett Australia. 

Participants will be invited to three events hosted by leading influencers like Ronnie Kahn, Founder & CEO at OzHarvest, and Adam Jacobs, Co-founder and Managing Director of The Iconic, as they cover how to launch a side hustle, productivity hacks and tips for scaling, and growing a business.
