Temperature settings for Samsung Washers.

Last modified : Aug 21. 2019

Samsung washing machines will use hot water when the temperature setting is set to 60 degrees Celsius or higher. The Automatic Temperature Control feature will allow the unit to use less hot water while still delivering good cleaning performance.

Please check for the following conditions if the water temperature is not as expected:

1 Check the hot and cold water supply taps.
2 Verify the cycle you have selected uses warm or hot water.
3 Check the supply hose for cold water is connected to the blue inlet and the hot water supply connected to the orange inlet.
4 Check your water heater, if hot water is in use in the shower or kitchen area, you may have depleted your hot water supply and will need to wait up to 30 minutes for your heater to replenish.
5 Turn off and disconnect the water supply taps and check the supply hose filter screens, if these are clogged or blocked they may prevent warm or hot water entering the machine.

Washer Fills with Incorrect Temperature.

If you find that your Samsung Washer is filling with incorrect temperatures, please follow these steps to reslove the issue.

Please Note: Water drained during a high-temperature wash or drying cycle is hot. Do not touch the water. This may result in burns or injury.

  • Fully open both taps.
  • Make sure the temperature selection is correct.
  • Make sure the hoses are connected to the correct taps. Flush water lines.
  • Make sure the water heater is set to supply a minimum 49 °C (120 °F) hot water at the tap. Also, check the water heater capacity and recovery rate.
  • Disconnect the hoses and clean the mesh filter. The mesh filter may be clogged.

  • While the washing machine fills, the water temperature may change as the automatic temperature control feature checks incoming water temperature. This is normal.
  • While the washing machine fills, you may notice just hot and/ or just cold water going through the dispenser when cold or warm temperatures are selected. This is a normal function of the automatic temperature control feature as the washing machine determines the water temperature.
  • Do not install the washer where it will be exposed to low temperatures.

Why does the washer not fill with water immediately?

It is normal if your washer does not fill with water immediately. The tub will agitate for approximately 2-3 minutes to sense the weight of the load, and then appropriate amount of water will be added.
