What is initialising the ice maker and why is it important?

Initializing the ice maker is important because it ensures proper ice production. It is simply a way of evenly distributing the ice in your ice bucket so that that ice level sensing obtains the most accurate reading of the amount of ice in the bucket. Once the process has been completed correctly, the only time you need to initialize the ice maker is when the ice bucket has been completely emptied (i.e. periods of extended inactivity).

To initialize the ice maker, ensure the tray is attached correctly. The fridge will not be cool enough to generate ice for the first 12 hours of use. After the first 12-24 hours, it will dispense 3 to 4 cubes of ice from the ice maker every few hours until the ice bucket is completely full. Then, the ice in the bucket will be distributed evenly and maximum ice production will continue.

Please note:

●      Before initializing the ice maker, the water line must be connected and the water supply valve must be completely open. Additionally, allow the unit to cool for 24 hours before dispensing any ice for the first time.

●      If you begin to notice slower ice production, check the level of the ice in the bucket. If it is concentrated in one area, you need to initialize the ice maker again.
