Samsung Phone won't charge

Last modified : Jul 02. 2019
My mobile device is not charging. What should i do?

Are you struggling to keep your phone or tablet charged? Poor battery life can be the result of lots of different issues. If your device turns on you can try optimising the battery performance with Device Maintenance (for OS 7+) or the Smart Manager app (on OS 5 - 6).

If your device won't charge at all, by cable or wireless charger, please see the following steps:

IMPORTANT NOTE: We recommend using genuine Samsung chargers and cables with Samsung devices. Please view our "Important Notice" in regards to charging.

1 Examine the charging port on your mobile device to ensure there are no foreign objects blocking the charging cable being inserted properly
2 Make sure to connect the charger to a known working power point.
3 If you have a spare charger which works without any issues, test it with your device to identify if the issue is with your mobile device or with the charger.

If multiple chargers and/or cables are unable to keep the battery charged on your mobile device or tablet, you will need to have the device assessed by a service technician. Visit a Samsung store so that we can run diagnostics and find out what the problem is. It's a good idea to bring your charger with you, and backing up your data before booking an appointment is best practice. If you're not near any of our Samsung locations you can post your device to a service center through Australia Post.
