What is Air command on Galaxy Note9?

Activate various S Pen features from the Air Command panel. The shortcuts that do not appear on the panel by default can be added by using the Add shortcuts feature (you can have 10 shortcuts in Air Command panel).

  • Create note: Create notes easily in a pop-up window without launching the Samsung Notes app.
  • View all notes: View all notes in the Samsung Notes app.
  • Smart select: Use the S Pen to select an area and perform actions, such as sharing or saving.
  • Screen write: Capture screenshots to write or draw on them or crop an area from the captured image. You can also capture the current content and the hidden content on an elongated page, such as a webpage.
  • Live message: Instead of text message, create and send a unique message by recording your actions while handwriting or drawing a live message and saving it as an animated file.
  • Translate: Hover the S Pen over a word to translate it.
  • PENUP: Post your artwork, view other’s artwork, and get useful drawing tips.
  • Bixby Vision: Use the Bixby Vision features to search for similar images, detect and translate text, and more.
  • Magnify: Hover the S Pen over an area of the screen to enlarge it.
  • Glance: Reduce an app to a thumbnail and hover the S Pen over the thumbnail to open the app in full screen view.
  • Coloring: Add colors to images provided by PENUP using the S Pen.
  • Add shortcuts: Add shortcuts to frequently used apps to the Air command panel.

How to use Smart selectClick to Expand

Smart select lets you select, clip and collect whatever grabs your interest so you can easily share it right away or at a later time to your friends or via social media. You can also select an area from a video and capture it as a GIF animation.

1 Open the Air command panel and tap Smart Select.
2 Select a desired shape icon on the toolbar and drag the S Pen across the content you want to select.

  1. Tap Auto select to automatically reshape the selected area.
  2. If text is included in the selected area, tap Extract text to recognise and extract text from the selected area.
  3. To pin the selected area at the top of the screen, tap Pin to screen. In case of Pin to screen, you can continuously see captured contents during use other apps.
How to use Scroll captureClick to Expand

Scroll Capture lets you capture entire web pages in just a few taps. Rather than sending multiple screenshots, Scroll Capture will capture it all hassle free in one handy file so that you can share it all in one go, saving you time and energy.

1 Open the Air command panel and tap Screen write. The current screen is automatically captured and the editing toolbar appears.
2 If you capture the content on an elongated page, such as a webpage, tap Scroll capture to capture the hidden content. Tap SCROLL CAPTURE repeatedly until screen capture is complete, and then tap DONE.
3 Once finished, you’ll be given the option to share and save for later use.
How to use Live MessageClick to Expand

Instead of a text message, you can create and send a unique message by recording your actions while handwriting or drawing a live message and saving it as an animated file.

1 When you want to send an animated message, open the Air command panel and tap Live message .
2 Select your pen, pen colour and background image.

3 Write or draw on the live message window.
4 When you are finished, tap DONE. The live message will be saved in Gallery as an animated GIF file or a video.
5 Share your new Live Message by tapping on SHARE.
How to translate words or sentencesClick to Expand

1 When there are text you want to translate, open the Air command panel and tap Translate .
2 Select the languages on the translator panel at the top of the screen. You can change the text between words and sentences by tapping on the icon to the left of the languages.
3 Hover the S Pen over the text you want to translate. The translated text will appear above the original text. You can even listen to the pronunciation by tapping on the sound icon (icon may not appear depending on the language you select).
What is PENUP and how to use itClick to Expand

PENUP is a social network service for sharing artwork drawn with the S Pen. Post your artwork, view others’ artwork, and get useful drawing tips. You can sign in to PENUP with your Samsung account or other SNS accounts.

 

To post your artwork: 

PENUP
1 Open the Samsung folder, launch the PENUP app, and then tap on the plus (+) icon.
2 Tap on Gallery to post art from your Gallery; Tap on Drawing to start a fresh drawing; Or tap on Drafts to finish your draft artworks. Tap on Done when you are ready to post and then tap on Save and post.
3 Enter a Title, Description and Hashtag and then tap on POST.
What is Colouring?Click to Expand

You can colors images provided by PENUP. Using the advanced S Pen and various colors, add your own colors to images. When you are finished, save the image to Gallery or post it to PENUP.

 

To start colouring: 

PENUP
1 Open the Samsung folder, launch the PENUP app, and then tap on the COLOURING tab.
2 Select an image and then tap on START COLOURING.
3 When you are satisfied with your work, tap on DONE. and choose whether you want to Save or Save and post.
4 If you opted to post, enter a Title, Description and Hashtag and then tap on POST.
