How do I use Bixby Vision on Note9?

Bixby Vision allows you to search items on the go, through the use of the Note9 Camera, Gallery, and S Pen. To use Bixby Vision on the Note9, follow the below instructions:

How to setup Bixby VisionClick to Expand
1 Launch the Camera app > tap on the Bixby Vision icon.
2 Agree to T&Cs and Third Party Service Policies, and allow permissions for Bixby Vision to run properly.
3 Select whether you want a Bixby Vision shortcut on the Home Screen or not.

If Bixby Vision is not up to date you will be prompted to update it:

  • Tap on UPDATE > Update > Open.

Bixby Vision has a series of functions that let you use the Camera and Augmented Reality to look things up on the go:

  • Text: Automatically translates text that are in a foreign language to a language of your choice (Powered by Google Translate).
  • Image: detects what object is in the image and will give suggestions to similar objects (Powered by Pinterest).
  • Place: Shows locations and landmarks around you using location services (Powered by Google Maps).
  • Wine: Looks up wine bottle labels giving origin, pricing and rating (Powered by Vivino).
  • QR code: Scans QR codes and will execute it's function through your internet browser.
  • Modes: Add more functions to Bixby Vision via Galaxy Apps store.

Firstly let's setup Bixby Vision on Air Command:

1 Launch Air Command by removing the S Pen from its slot.
2 Tap on Add shortcuts ( + ) > Bixby Vision and this should add Bixby Vision to Air Command shortcuts.

Follow the below instructions to learn how to use Bixby Vision via Air Command:

1 Launch Air Command by removing the S Pen from its slot.
2 Tap on Bixby Vision . On initial launch, a small tutorial will appear, tap on OK to continue.
3 Hover your S Pen over and item on the screen and Bixby Vision will detect what the item is. You will then be given Bixby Vision functions depending on what object was detected.

1 Launch the Gallery app.
2 Select an image and tap on the Bixby Vision icon on the top right.
3 Select which Bixby Vision mode you would like to use and tap on the icon again to execute the function.
