Unable to Receive calls from the Galaxy Watch Active

If you are unable to answer calls directly from your Galaxy Watch Active ensure that you haven’t enabled Do not Disturb, Goodnight Mode, Theatre Mode and you are connected to your compatible Smartphone via Bluetooth. If the two are remotely connected you will not receive incoming calls or texts.

Please Note: : You can make or check incoming calls and answer them from your Galaxy Watch Active however, you will proceed to continue the conversation through your compatible mobile device.

If one of these modes has been activated, the touchscreen will not wake up during incoming calls. To check if you have an incoming call if you have these settings enabled press the Home key or Back key to turn on the screen and check the incoming call. Ensure that you have not set call barring for the incoming phone number on the mobile device and Galaxy Watch Active.

Do Not Disturb

Do not disturb will disable all notifications except for alarms from lighting up  your screen or vibrating on your Galaxy Watch Active for up to 3 hours. If you would like to disable this feature you can either turn off Do Not Disturb via your Quick Panel Settings, Settings → Advanced or through your Galaxy Wearables App Settings  → Advanced.

Goodnight Mode

Enabling Goodnight Mode will prevent disturbances while you're sleeping. Goodnight Mode will mute all alerts except for alarms and system sounds. Unlike Do Not Disturb, you are unable to set a timer to automatically turn off. You will need to head into your settings and turn the feature on and off.

Theatre Mode

Theatre Mode will keep your watch silent and screen off. Once you have enabled Theatre Mode, all alerts including alarms and system sounds will be muted until this feature has been turned off. To turn this feature on and off follow the below steps.

If you haven't enabled any of the above settings ensure the Galaxy Watch Active software is up to date. You can check out our guide How to update the software of my Wearable for step-by-step instructions. Once complete, try factory resetting your Galaxy Watch Active and pair to your Galaxy S10. It is also recommended to reset app data for the Watch Active Plugin - simply head into your Settings > Apps > Watch Active Plugin > Storage > Clear Data.


Prior to resetting your Galaxy Watch Active and Watch Active Plugin, ensure you have successfully backed up the device as the watch will be reset to its default settings. To back up your device, launch the Galaxy Wearables App > Select Galaxy Watch Active > Account and backup > Back up and restore > Back up settings > Back up now.
