Sometimes there are just too many remotes to keep track of. You can simplify things by using one remote to control your Samsung TV and soundbar. As long as your soundbar is connected to your TV with either an optical cable or HDMI via ARC, you can control the volume and mute the soundbar using your Samsung TV's remote.

Connecting via HDMI ARC

1 Connect a HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT port on your soundbar to your TV's HDMI (ARC port).
2 Set the soundbar to D.IN mode by pressing Source on the remote or soundbar. After about 2 seconds, the source will automatically change to TV ARC.
3 Press and hold the right direction on the directional pad to activate or deactivate Anynet+.

Note: ARC (audio return channel) only works if Anynet+ is enabled. If this function is disabled it will disable ARC functionality also.

Setting audio output on the TV and enabling TV control

1 Use the TV remote to navigate to Settings > Sound > Sound Output on your Samsung TV.
2 Select your Samsung soundbar and then select Close. Now you can use your TV remote to adjust volume and mute the soundbar. The soundbar should also turn on and off with the TV.

Note: Your TV menu may differ depending on the model.

To be able to use your Samsung TV remote to control your Samsung soundbar, the TV remote must be enabled on your soundbar. By default, Samsung TV remotes are enabled on your soundbar. If it isn't working, be sure the soundbar is powered on, the press and hold the WOOFER button up until ON - TV REMOTE appears on the display (about 5 seconds).

Note: If your remote does not have the WOOFER button, check your user manual for how to turn on the TV remote function

Connecting via Digital Optical Cable

1 Connect a digital optical cable from your soundbar's optical port to your TV's optical port.

Note: Make sure to remove the plastic protector caps before using the optical cable.

2 Set the soundbar to D.IN mode by pressing Source on the remote or soundbar. After about 2 seconds, the source will automatically change to TV ARC.
3 Press and hold the left direction button on the direction pad on the remote to activate Auto Power Link.

Note: Auto Power Link only works with an optical connection and should be turned on by default. Check your user manual on how to enable Auto Power Link. The soundbar will turn on and off. To finish the setup, you need to set the audio output on the TV.

Please refer to our User Manual and Guides to confirm if this function is available on your Samsung TV.
