Sometimes there are just too many remotes to keep track of. You can simplify things by using one remote to control your Samsung TV and soundbar. As long as your soundbar is connected to your TV with either an optical cable or HDMI via ARC, you can control the volume and mute the soundbar using your Samsung TV's remote.
Connecting via HDMI ARC
Note: ARC (audio return channel) only works if Anynet+ is enabled. If this function is disabled it will disable ARC functionality also.
Setting audio output on the TV and enabling TV control
Note: Your TV menu may differ depending on the model.
To be able to use your Samsung TV remote to control your Samsung soundbar, the TV remote must be enabled on your soundbar. By default, Samsung TV remotes are enabled on your soundbar. If it isn't working, be sure the soundbar is powered on, the press and hold the WOOFER button up until ON - TV REMOTE appears on the display (about 5 seconds).
Note: If your remote does not have the WOOFER button, check your user manual for how to turn on the TV remote function
Connecting via Digital Optical Cable
Note: Make sure to remove the plastic protector caps before using the optical cable.
Note: Auto Power Link only works with an optical connection and should be turned on by default. Check your user manual on how to enable Auto Power Link. The soundbar will turn on and off. To finish the setup, you need to set the audio output on the TV.
