Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great Battery, Crippled by insufficient RAM This is a Beautiful product, nice screen, well built (except hinge), a keyboard that awesome to type on and an incredible 20hour battery (tested recently and got slightly more). Unfortunately all this means nothing as it's only fitted with 4GB of RAM which basically cripples it. Very slow, and forget multitasking, open Spotify and a couple of browser tabs and it starts chugging. Possibly the most dissapointing tech purchase I've ever made and with the hefty price tag it has stung hard. I tried to take it back but the store I bought through wouldn't allow it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great but not so great. I’m with rest on the ram side it needs to have more than 4gb, 8gb would of been better, I run a few game servers and bought this one for art and secondly for the servers, but due to the lack in Java it will not even load games that are have based, so I am think about selling due to this reason as I have bought an older surface pro 2 compare with the book 2 and to be honest it runs smoother and does all that I want it to do, don’t get me wrong if you want an over priced and underpowered tablet then this is for you, if you just want to watch videos or surf the net this is for you accept for Stan it doesn’t like Stan streaming, Netflix not problem, some of the art apps you get off the windows store work but then some work and crash while you are drawing,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good performance, screen and ideal battery life I have been using the Galaxy Book2 for work and feel the need to write a review on it since it has been getting some quite negative reviews. My usage centres mainly on Excel, viewing PDFs with Drawboard or Xodo, web browsing (I use Edge mainly but sometime the ARM compiled beta version of Firefox which is faster), OneNote, Microsoft Mail and To-Do. I also use Ubuntu through the Windows Subsystem for Linux. I work in the construction industry where there is limited access to power points let alone desk space so having decent battery life is amazing. Also my previous Surface Pro 2017 has suffered significant battery wear from deep cycling the battery- this does harm but I finish the end of a working day with the Galaxy Book2 with 60% battery remaining so I don't expect this to be an issue. The screen is clear even in the bright sun just as you would expect from your phone. I collaborate on documents with others through OneDrive so having Internet constantly is essential. The pen is great and doesn't need batteries. I wish it had a clip so I can keep it in my pocket though and agree with others that it doesn't stick magnetically firmly to the computer. For my usage usage the Galaxy Book2 has been ideal. I also own a Surface Pro 2017 with LTE and have switched to using the Galaxy Book mainly for the enormous improvement in battery life but this also gives me a position to compare the two machines and in terms of performance in the above listed apps both are similar. I have carried out a couple of web browsing benchmarks using Basemark Web 3.0 and the Surface Pro rates slightly higher. I do agree that only having 4GB of RAM is a bit underdone and just 128 GB of disk space is a bit on the low side. Personally I haven't had issues running out of RAM within my usage and I have had numerous tabs open in Edge. I would expect that if I was using Chrome things would slow down significantly as it is compiled for x86 CPUs. Another thing noticed is that I have not been able to upgrade to Windows version 1903 due to my "device not being ready yet" which is possibly due to drivers not supporting the new version. It seems dissapointing seeing that lack of interst in ARM based CPUs. The ARM based iPad Pro performance rates similarly to the Intel based Surface Pro 6 using significantly less power. I would like to see mobile computing head this way just as we moved in the past from 32bit CPUs to 64bit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Book 2 I ummed and arred about purchasing the book 2 as I thought it would be better waiting for a 8CX powered version. Truth is I've been waiting for an arm powered windows product that works well since 2012 so I took the plunge. I'm impressed with the book 2. It was bought primarily as a laptop back up, and as a backup it works well. I've spent many a day using it as a laptop replacement and this is where it struggles. Top 3 problems... 1. Battery life is nowhere near what Samsung quote. Big thing for me buying this. I wanted 16 to 20 hours, and I'm nowhere near achieving 16 never mind the Samsung quoted 20. 2. RAM. I have a note 9 phone which has more RAM than this! What is that all about? This would have solved alot of problems if the book 2 was 8gb RAM instead of a mesely 4GB. 3. Pen doesn't stay on the magnetic clip.ok this is a small one compared to the 2 problems aforementioned, but it plays a huge part of frustration in my day and work. Apart from that it works well. I have kept the machine in Windows s mode and have only come across a few software issues which obviously rest at Microsoft's door. The key buying one is as I mentioned at the top... Perfect as a backup machine, falls short as a replacement. Get your mindset aligned to one of them and you won't be disappointed. Huge potential in the Arm infrastructure and that was a huge part of my investment. Samsung have pulled it off very well. Quality is good and the keyboard / touch pad are comfy to use and capable to outlast a day. I've heard people complain about the bezels being chunky... They are in laptop mode! But when using in tablet mode in portrait orientation... Those bezels come in very handy! Great machine overall. Help me squeeze more battery life out of it and I'm happy with the other shortfalls. Andy.
