How Do I Remove Baked-on Food From My Broiler Pan And Grid?

Last Update Date : Apr 09. 2018

Food may become baked onto the broiler pan and grid during broiling. Immediately after the broiler pan and grid have cooled, set the broiler pan on a level surface.

  1. Fill the pan with warm water and a liquid dishwashing detergent.
  2. Place the grid on top of the broiler pan and add additional warm water to cover the food soil on the grid.
  3. Allow this to soak until the food soil loosens.

For stubborn food soils, use a nonabrasive nylon pad. If desired, place a sheet of aluminum foil or a small amount of water (about 1/8 inch) inside the broiler pan before use. This will reduce food stains making it easier to clean the broiler pan. We do not recommend using aluminum foil on the broiling grid. Food drippings must be allowed to drain into the pan below.
