SmartThings - Update your SmartThings Wi-Fi hub preferences

Customization is key to making something your own, and SmartThings Wi-Fi lets you put your own touch on every aspect of it. You can rename the SmartThings Wi-Fi hub, add a new password for each family member, and set up multiple passwords for your frequent house guests and friends. Learn about all the Wi-Fi access controls you have at your fingertips.

Rename the Wi-Fi hub

You want to give your SmartThings Wi-Fi hub a wacky name to make it stand out from the neighbors’ Wi-Fi. No problem, you can rename the hub whenever you want. Just follow the steps below.

Open the Plume app. Tap Menu and then tap WiFi. Next, tap the Pencil icon next to your SmartThings Wi-Fi hub. Enter a name using the on-screen keyboard, and then tap DONE.

Add a new password

When you get a new roommate, you can add a password to SmartThings Wi-Fi so they can use it. Open the Plume app. Tap Menu and then tap WiFi. Select HomeGuest, or Internet Only depending on what type of access you want to grant, and then tap Add. Enter a password using the on-screen keyboard, and then tap the Check icon. To share it with someone, tap the Share icon and then select a sharing option and follow the on-screen prompts. You can also EditCopyDisable, or Delete the password by touching the More Options icon next to it and then selecting an option.
