Galaxy Core: How do I uninstall, turn off, and hide applications?
Uninstall and Turn Off Applications
You can uninstall Android™ applications and widgets you have installed on your mobile device, and turn off certain preloaded (or system) applications. You can also hide applications in the Apps menu.
Use the Apps Menu
From the Home screen, touch Apps > More options > Uninstall/disable apps . Touch next to the application you want to uninstall, and then touch OK.
Use the Application Manager
From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > Application Manager . If necessary, swipe to the DOWNLOADED tab. Touch the application you want to uninstall, and then touch Uninstall > Uninstall.
Applications preloaded on your device cannot be uninstalled, but you can uninstall any updates you have applied by touching Uninstall updates > OK.
You can hide applications in the Apps menu. This does not uninstall or disable them, but it removes them from view.
From the Home screen, touch Apps > More options > Hide apps. Mark the checkboxes for the applications you want to hide, and then touch Done.
Turn Off Applications
You can turn off certain preloaded applications on your device. Once turned off, the application will be hidden and will not be accessible until it is turned on.
From the Home screen, touch Apps > More options > Uninstall/disable apps. Touch next to the application you want to turn off, and then touch Disable or OK.
Turn On Applications
You can turn on applications from the Apps menu. From the Home screen, touch Apps > More options > Show disabled apps. Mark the checkboxes for the applications you want to turn on, and then touch Done.
You can also turn on applications from the Application manager. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > Application Manager. Swipe to the TURNED OFF tab at the top of the screen. Touch the application you want to turn on, and then touch Turn on.
Why I can't uninstall some apps?
Only downloaded apps can be uninstalled. Preloaded applications (applications built into your device) cannot be uninstalled. You can only disable them. The operating system running in your device is based on Android developed by Google. Part of the agreement to use the software developed by Google is to make available their basic apps package. For the Samsung apps, the strategy is to promote our in-house apps and to offer a similar experience to all users, novice or expert. On top of that, Samsung apps fulfill the high security standard required to protect your mobile device and its content.
