Galaxy Note8: Get to know the Camera on your Samsung Galaxy Note8 (SM-N950W)

With the sharpest camera yet, the Note8 is ready to take some seriously stunning photos. Your phone features both front- and rear-facing cameras, which let you capture everything from landscapes, portraits, panoramas, and of course, that perfect selfie. Did we mention it also takes high-quality videos? Edit photos and videos directly on your phone and share on social media. We’re so ready for our close-up.

Camera Settings


Turn your phone into a DSLR camera. Take behind-the-scenes clips and add location tags to your photos and videos. Here’s how to adjust the camera settings:

1. From the Home screen, swipe up or down to access the Apps screen.

2. Touch Camera.

3. To configure settings for the Camera, touch the Settings icon.

4. Adjust the following to the desired settings:

   • REAR CAMERA: Adjust the picture size or video size of the rear camera, enable or disable Tracking AF and Shape correction, and choose a Timer.

   • FRONT CAMERA: Adjust the picture size or video size of the front camera, enable or disable Save pictures as previewed, choose Shooting methods, and choose a Timer.

   • COMMON: Use the options available to enhance your capturing experience.

   • Reset settings: Touch Reset settings to reset the camera settings to default.

Note: Available options vary depending on the camera or recording mode used.

Resolutions - Rear Camera


Note: Want to make some adjustments? You can change the resolution for the rear camera in a few easy steps. This way, you have total control over the way your photos and videos look. You’re the boss.

1. From the Home screen, swipe up or down to access the Apps screen.

2. Touch Camera.

3. To configure settings for the Camera, touch the Settings icon.

4. To change the resolution of the Rear camera, touch Picture size under REAR CAMERA for photo resolution, and Video size for video resolution.

5. Choose the desired Picture size or Video size.

Resolutions - Front Camera
