Edge lighting


Tired of flashing lights and sounds interrupting your game every time you get a text? With Edge Lighting, you can make the edges of your Note8 light up for minimal screen interference. Now that’s discreet.

Note: Screens and settings available may vary depending on your Canadian wireless service provider and your software version.

Turn Edge Lighting On or Off


Note: Try Edge Lighting when you’re at work and want minimal distractions. Read on to learn how to get started.

1. From the Home screen, swipe up or down to access the Apps screen.

2. Touch Settings Settings.

3. Touch Display.

4. Swipe to and touch Edge screen.

5. Touch Edge lighting.

6. To turn on Edge lighting, touch the slider.

Note: Edge lighting is turned on by default.

7. To turn off Edge lighting, touch the slider again.

Manage Edge Lighting


Tried it and fell in love? You can set edge lighting as your permanent notification system. Find out how here:

1. From the Home screen, swipe up or down to access the Apps screen.

2. Touch Settings Settings.

3. Touch Display.

4. Swipe to and touch Edge screen.

5. Touch Edge lighting.

6. Choose when to display edge lighting:

7. To select the apps you want to receive notifications from, touch Manage notifications.

8. Touch the slider next to the desired app.

Note: If you find that edge lighting does not work with certain apps, try selecting All available apps.
