Galaxy Tab S3: How do I take screenshots on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 (SM-T820)?

A screenshot is a snapshot of your device's screen that is saved as a photo. There are several ways to capture screenshots on your device. Screenshots are automatically saved into the Screenshots folder in the Gallery, as well as to the clipboard.

Note: Screens and settings available may vary depending on your Canadian wireless service provider and your software version.

Capture a Screenshot Using Device Buttons

You can capture a screenshot by simultaneously pressing the Home Home and the Power/Lock buttons for 1–2 seconds. A blue border will flash around the edges of the screen to confirm the screenshot is taken. The screenshot will be copied to the clipboard and saved to the Screenshots folder in the Gallery application.

Note: Taking a screenshot using the device's buttons requires a little bit of training. The main difficulty is to press the two buttons at the same time. We guarantee it works as we used it to take the screenshots that illustrate this page. Just keep trying!

Capture a Screenshot Using Motion Gestures

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Apps.

2. Touch Settings Settings.

3. Touch Advanced features.

4. Touch Smart capture.

5. If required, touch the slider OFF to turn Smart capture on ON.

Note: This feature should be activated on your mobile device by default.

6. Place the side of your hand on the screen and sweep it across the screen from the right to the left or vice versa to capture a screenshot.

7. The picture will be saved in the Gallery > Album > Screenshots folder. After capturing a screenshot, you can edit the image and share it with others.
