Galaxy View: How do I Add a Contact on my Samsung Galaxy View?

Manage Contacts


Store and manage your contacts with the Contacts app, which can be synchronized with a variety of your existing personal accounts, including Google, Email, Facebook, and your Samsung account.

Add a Contact


Use the following procedure to add a new contact.

1. From the Home screen, touch AppsIcon_Apps.png > Contacts icon_contacts.png.

2. Tap Create contact icon_Create_Contact.png.

    • Choose a storage account for the contact. You can store the contact on the device or sync it with an account. For this example, we will save to Device.

    • Tap Contact photo to assign a picture to the new contact.

    • Enter a name, phone number, email address, and assign the contact to a group.

        ◦ Tap icon_add1.png Add to enter additional entries.

        ◦ Tap icon_remove1.png Remove to remove an entry.

        ◦ Tap icon_expand.png Expand for additional fields.

        ◦ Tap the label to the right of an entry to choose a label for the field (for example, Home or Work).

Tap ADD ANOTHER FIELD to add additional contact information.

3. Tap SAVE.

Edit a Contact


When editing a contact, you can tap a field and change or delete the information, or you can add additional fields to the contact's list of information.

1. From the Home screen, touch AppsIcon_Apps.png > Contacts icon_contacts.png

2. Tap the contact to display it.

3. Tap EDIT.

4. Tap any of the fields to add, change, or delete information.

5. Tap SAVE.

Delete Contacts


You can delete a single contact or choose multiple contacts to delete.

1. From the Home screen, touch AppsIcon_Apps.png > Contacts icon_contacts.png.

2. Tap the contacts you want to delete.

3. Tap MORE > Delete.

4. Tap DELETE to confirm.

Add Contacts to Favorites


When you mark contacts as favorites, they are easily accessible from other apps. Favorites display together on the Favorites tab in Contacts.


Mark Contacts as Favorites

1. From the Home screen, touch AppsIcon_Apps.png > Contacts icon_contacts.png.

2. Tap a contact, and then tap Favoriteicon_favoriteoff.png (the start brightens icon_favorite1.png).

Remove Contacts from Favorites

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Icon_Apps.png > Contacts icon_contacts.png.

2. Tap a contact to display it, and then tap Favorite icon_favorite1.png (the star dims icon_favoriteoff.png).
