Location


The Location settings let you choose how your device will determine your location.

Note: Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Turn on location services


1. From the Home screen, touch Apps 1.

2. Touch Settings 1.

3. Touch Privacy 1 > Location.

4. Touch the slider 1 to turn Location on 1.

5. Touch AGREE on the consent screen.

Manage accuracy level


You can select the accuracy level of your device's locating method.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps 1.

2. Touch Settings 1.

3. Touch Privacy 1 > Location.

4. Touch Locating method.

5. Choose from the following options:

     • GPS and Wi-Fi: This option has the highest level of accuracy, using GPS, and Wi-Fi interchangeably to estimate your location.

     • Wi-Fi only: This option uses only Wi-Fi  to estimate your location.

     • GPS only: This option uses only the GPS network to estimate your location.

Manage recent location services


Your device will display any applications that have requested access to your location in the Recent location requests section. Under the application name, you will see the battery usage required for this application to make the request. Touch an application to access its application information screen.

Turn on location reporting


Your device uses information from Wi-Fi to help calculate your position. This lets Google use its location services to estimate your location and improve search results and other services.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps 1.

2. Touch Settings 1.

3. Touch Privacy 1 > Location.

4. Touch Google Location History. You will be prompted to sign in to your Google Account if you have not already done so.

5. Touch the slider 1 at the top-right corner to turn Location History on 1.

6. Touch the slider 1 across from your device's name to turn location reporting on 1.
