Low media sound after a phone call on Galaxy phone when using CallApp

CallApp version information on a Galaxy phone

The third-party app CallApp can be used to make and receive calls on your Galaxy phone. However, you may notice low audio volume on your phone after using CallApp. This is due to a permission issue in the app which causes sound to emit through the receiver instead of the speaker. You can fix this by updating the app to the latest version (1.962) or uninstalling the app. We recommend using a different calling app if you choose to uninstall CallApp.

CallApp can be updated or uninstalled in order to fix the sound error on your phone. To do so, please use the following steps.

  1. Navigate to and open the Galaxy Store, and then tap Menu (the three horizontal lines) at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Tap Updates, and then tap the Update icon next to CallApp.
Note: If CallApp doesn’t appear in the list, it may have already been updated. In this case, proceed to the next step.

  3. Navigate to and open CallApp, and then make a call to your desired recipient.

  4. After the call, navigate to a media app, such as YouTube, and check if you are able to hear media sounds through the speaker. If the issue is not resolved after updating the app, please proceed to the next step.

  5. Navigate to the Apps screen, and then touch and hold the CallApp icon. Tap Uninstall, and then tap OK.

  6. The app will be removed from your phone. You can download a different calling app from the Galaxy Store or Play Store.
