Samsung Connect Home: What is Double NAT?
Samsung Connect Home - What is Double NAT?
Q: What is Double NAT?
A: NAT (Network Address Translation): This is used to convert your private IP addresses into public addresses. In general, it is used by multiple hosts belonging to a private network to access the internet using one public IP address.
Double NAT is when you connect and use two routers that support the NAT feature. Typically, users experience no issues while using the internet in a double-NAT environment, but some issues may occur while using features such as Port forwarding or UPnP.
1. Create a private network using just your Samsung Connect Home.
2. When you can’t remove your existing router (e.g., a modem & router combo device)
-Set the existing router to Bridge Mode (recommended).
-Set the Samsung Connect Home device to Bridge Mode (However, some features of the Samsung Connect Home, such as Port forwarding, will be unavailable).
