Can The BD-D5100 Connect To A Wireless Network?

Bluray Players: BD-D5100


The BD-D5100 does not support a wireless network connection, it can be connected to an existing network using an a wired connection instead. Although a USB Host port is located on the front of the player, this port is to be used for software upgrades, USB streaming, and BD Live storage. The USB host port does not support any type of wireless USB adapter.

Connecting the BD-D5100 to a Wireless Network


The only thing you need to connect this player to an existing network is an ethernet cable. You can either connect the Ethernet cable directly to your modem, or to your router, and then connect the other end to your player. See images below.


Direct Connection to player: Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the modem. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the back of the Blu-ray player.

Direct Connection to Router: Connect an Ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports on the back of the router. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the back of the Blu-ray player. Be sure the router is already connected to your modem, and both the player and modem are connected to the correct ports. Click here to finish network settings.
