Enhance Networks Faster
with Samsung’s Massive MIMO Units

As an evolved radio unit for 5G, Samsung’s Massive MIMO (MMU) products provide a different level of coverage and capacity performance using 3D beam forming and MU-MIMO. Additionally, the products’ flexible installation and operation provide operators with a variety of options to adapt to their 5G deployment and will perform a key role in 5G service utilization below 6GHz spectrum.

All Encompassing Solution
for Any Deployment Scenario
Samsung MMU has been made to meet all customers’ needs by supporting all globally defined 5G spectrums and providing various form factors to be optimally used for different site requirements. The 32TRX type is suitable for fast deployment and dense network coverage while the 64TRX type provides more coverage and capacity and is a better solutions for large, wide areas. In addition, the 64TRX product can either be split in half to support both LTE and 5G NR in a single unit or be used fully for NR, providing flexible network management for operators.
Slim & Compact Design
Samsung MMU has a slim and compact design intended for efficient on site installation. It is among the smallest and lightest in the industry and can be easily installed in existing operators’ cellular sites. Operators can reuse the infrastructure that is already installed on site with minimal changes necessary. This is key for fast 5G network deployment and is extremely critical when we consider how difficult the site acquisition process is for operators when deploying commercialized 5G with new equipment.

Increased Coverage
with Advanced
3D Beaming Technologies
Samsung’s MMU creates sharp beams and extends networks’ coverage by almost 3 times using a large number of antenna elements. This helps operators reduce their CAPEX as they now need less products to cover the same area than before. It also provides various beam scan range options so operators can selectively choose the best option for a certain target deployment area.
It can be managed to either focus on a limited and complex area or cover a wide sparse area.
Furthermore, as Samsung’s MMU supports electrical beam tilting function, MMU tilting can be remotely managed and reduce workers’ site visits.
