How does Auto Focus work?

Auto Focus allows users to quickly lock in on a selected point, subject, or area to produce sharper images. This works great for all sorts of high-speed motion situations from sports photography to your children and pets. To make it easier to get clear photos, the ultra fast and accurate Dual Pixel Auto Focus on Galaxy phones lets you take a snapshot without needing to manually focus. First introduced on Galaxy S7, Dual Pixel Auto Focus is the result of doubling up on the photodiodes in the camera — two photodiodes per pixel. This means the camera can bring in much more light than a device with only one photodiode per pixel, and brightens up even low light photos. So your camera is able to focus on the subject quicker, making your photos come out clearer.

Dual Pixel Auto Focus is available on Galaxy Note10, Note10+, S10e, S10, S10+, Fold, Note9, S9, S9+, Note8, S8, S8+, S7, and S7 edge.
