SEU/DS University

With the aim of providing a comprehensive platform for employees seeking professional development, DX Division integrated existing individual training modules scattered across different functional roles into a comprehensive structure under one organization, which we call Samsung Electronics University (SEU). SEU, which consists of 12 schools under three academies, delivers a wide range of courses to enhance the job competency and leadership skills of all employees, including part-time and contract workers, fostering a culture of employee-led growth, offering practical and field-oriented training, and promoting convergence among diverse functional roles and thematic areas through various systems.

DS Division provides job training through DS University. Designed as a comprehensive training program for DS Division employees, DS University is structured like a virtual university with 11 fields and 46 departments, offering systematic job training in fields such as design, devices, software, quality, processes, and equipment.

Encouraging Self-Learning

Our employees are encouraged to explore and sign up for self-led training courses offered by the company during the biannual STaR Week. This system inspires our employees to push their limits and proactively take part in courses beyond their current job functions.

We provide specialized and systematic training for each position, including S/W, R&D, manufacturing and production technology, quality and service, sales and marketing, purchasing, and design, so our employees can grow into top specialists in their respective fields.

We run a three-stage S/W architect training program to design customer experience-oriented S/W and are implementing a two-track AI training system for S/W engineers (AI for S/W Engineer Program) and all employees (GenAI PowerUser Program) in response to the era of generative AI. We also provide a four-stage data science training system to deliver new experiences and value to customers
R&D
  • Technology leadership classes (executives, masters, and fellows deliver content focusing on the latest technology trends and technical expertise)
To support the development of next-generation products, we provide R&D personnel with the latest technologies and training in seven key areas: RF/communication, systems/sensors, display, mechanics, molds, technology elements, and technology management
Manufacturing and production technology

We provide training on automation technology to drive Samsung Smart Factory and full automation, along with training programs on manufacturing innovation and expertise building to enhance productivity and scientific factory management

We provide data-based quality analysis, material characteristics and testing methods, and technical competency enhancement training courses to enhance service and quality competencies with an emphasis on customer needs

We strengthen customer data-based analysis and problem-solving capabilities for customer-centered sales and marketing in the digital era and data-driven sales and marketing
Purchasing

We train procurement specialists according to internationally recognized certification, such as Certified Professional in Supply Management(CPSM), and enhance their expertise in purchasing with a combination of theoretical training and practical, case-based simulations
Design

We help our employees enhance their design implementation skills through training in the four key design areas (UX, Industrial, Visual, and Strategy) and Design AI programs focused on creating value in customer experiences. We also provide Design Thinking programs that focus on customer-centric and creative problem-solving
Strengthening leadership capabilities by role

We offer diverse competency-building programs to empower leaders’ capabilities in driving organizational performance. These programs include leadership training tailored to fulfill organizational roles and leadership-themed courses according to the Samsung Electronics Leadership Fundamentals(SELF). Additionally, we conduct leadership coaching and seminars to better understand changing trends and environments, complemented by next-generation leadership courses to help talented employees grow into better leaders. Moreover, we aim to boost competitiveness at the unit level through organizational development programs, strengthening departmental collaboration and synergy among all department members.

In-house professor program for knowledge-and-experience-sharing

SEU appoints employees noted for their outstanding performance based on their experience and knowledge as in-house professors specializing in different job functions to share their expertise. They are responsible for developing their own teaching content and delivering practical training that participants can readily utilize at work. Currently, 43 in-house professors are teaching at SEU. We plan to expand our pool of in-house professors further.
