SEU/DS University

With the aim of providing a comprehensive platform for employees seeking professional development, DX Division integrated existing individual training modules scattered across different functional roles into a comprehensive structure under one organization, which we call Samsung Electronics University (SEU). SEU, which consists of 11 schools under three academies, delivers a wide range of courses to enhance the job competency and leadership skills of all employees, including part-time and contract workers, fostering a culture of employee-led growth, offering practical and field-oriented training, and promoting convergence among diverse functional roles and thematic areas through various systems.

DS Division provides job training through DS University. Designed as a comprehensive training program for DS Division employees, DS University is structured like a virtual university with 12 fields and 48 departments, offering systematic job training in fields such as design, devices, software, quality, processes, and equipment.

Encouraging Self-Learning

Our employees are encouraged to explore and sign up for self-led training courses offered by the company during the biannual STaR Week. This system inspires our employees to push their limits and proactively take part in courses beyond their current job functions.

Supporting professional growth by role

We provide specialized and systematic training for each position, including S/W, R&D, manufacturing and production technology, quality and service, sales and marketing, purchasing, and design, so our employees can grow into top specialists in their respective fields.

We run an S/W Architect Training Program for customer experience-centric software design. In response to the era of generative AI, we are implementing a two-track AI training system: the AI for S/W Engineer Program to enhance product competitiveness, and the GenAI PowerUser Program for all employees to innovate workplace productivity. We also provide a Data Science training system to deliver new experiences and value to our customers.
R&D

To create value in customer experiences, we offer educational programs across five foundational design processes: General Skills, Creative Thinking, Research & Insight, Ideation & Solution, and Design Tools. We also provide Design Thinking programs that focus on customer-centric and creative problem-solving.
Strengthening leadership capabilities by role

We offer diverse leadership development programs to strengthen leaders’ capabilities in driving organizational performance. Our curriculum ranges from role transition support for newly appointed team leaders, to specialized leadership and coaching courses designed for continuous leadership development. We also operate next-generation leadership programs to help high-performing employees develop into well-prepared leaders, ready to embark on the next stage of their careers. Another primary initiative is to conduct specialized workshops and seminars for different management levels to effectively adapt to changes in the AX era. Moreover, we aim to boost competitiveness at the departmental level through organizational development programs, where leaders and team members collaborate to champion change and maximize synergy.

In-house professor program for knowledge-and-experience-sharing

SEU appoints employees noted for their outstanding performance based on their experience and knowledge as in-house professors specializing in different job functions to share their expertise. They are responsible for developing their own teaching content and delivering practical training that participants can readily utilize at work. Currently, 42 in-house professors are teaching at SEU. We plan to expand our pool of in-house professors further.
