Galaxy Upcycling
Samsung Electronics is leading the way in recycling and repurposing unused electronics into smart solutions through our Galaxy Upcycling program. In particular, we have been working with the IAPB (International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness) and YUHS (Yonsei University Health System) to transform used Galaxy smartphones into portable digital eye diagnosis devices. Using Samsung’s EYELIKE™ Fundus Cameras, we provide valuable upcycled medical devices to areas lacking medical equipment and facilities.

Upcycle Packaging
Samsung Electronics has introduced the Upcycle-Packaging program, which applies the concept of upcycling to packaging materials. Consumers can use the dots on product packaging and our website’s design suggestions to upcycle these boxes into various designs of their choice, such as homes for pets and small items of furniture. Samsung Electronics’ Upcycle Packaging program was recognized and awarded the CES Innovation Award at CES 2020 for the value it brings to consumers. Moreover, we are committed to effectively cutting down paper waste to protect the environment.
