Environmental Management Governance

We consider environmental issues including climate change as factors that directly influence our business operations and financial performance. These issues are overseen by the Board of Directors, our highest decision-making body.

The Sustainability Committee under the Board of Directors and the CEO-led Sustainability Council approve all strategies and goals related to environmental management and oversee key areas of progress.

The CEO in each division works closely with the heads of business units and sustainability teams through the Sustainability Council to establish detailed targets for each environmental topic and to continuously monitor progress toward those goals.

We incorporate environmental performance metrics, such as greenhouse gas reduction and the transition to renewable energy, into both executive and organizational evaluations depending on their business functions.
