Reducing Direct Greenhouse Gas Emissions in DX Division

With the aim of achieving net zero in Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 2030, DX Division prioritizes efforts to minimize greenhouse gas emissions from its business sites through initiatives such as energy efficiency improvement, energy use reduction, and energy transition. The division sets annual energy reduction targets for its global manufacturing sites and continuously pursues reduction activities.

For emissions that are difficult to reduce through its internal efforts, the division explores and implements greenhouse gas reduction projects to offset them. In 2024, the division carried out agroforestry and mangrove cultivation projects in India, Egypt, and Madagascar, securing an additional 460,000 tonnes of external carbon credits. This brought its total accumulated credits to approximately 700,000 tonnes.

To achieve its net zero goal, DX Division will continue to identify external greenhouse gas reduction projects, alongside its internal reduction efforts. While priority will be given to Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) projects that permanently eliminate greenhouse gases, other projects will be selected based on their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as improving the quality of life and income of local communities, protecting terrestrial and marine ecosystems, and preserving biodiversity.
