Pursuit of Work-life Balance

Programs to Ensure Work-Life Balance

We continuously make improvements to our work systems by adopting flexible and efficient programs tailored to individual job functions. We allow our employees to customize their working hours, plan their annual leave, and have more control over their schedule to provide a truly “work-smart” environment. Since 2023, we have introduced a policy that enables employees who meet the required monthly working hours to take the Friday of their payroll week off. Our employees take this flexible work arrangement as an opportunity for self-improvement and recharging.

Development day for self-improvement (Korea)

Our employees can choose not to come to work on Friday of the week of the pay day for self-improvement and recharge as long as they meet the mandatory working hours for the month.

A life with time for evenings (Korea)

At our workplaces in Korea, employees are encouraged to leave work before 5 PM on payday each month so they can spend quality time with their families and friends.

Remote working for work-life balance

The remote working policy remains in place for a better work-life balance even after COVID-19 has become an endemic. Our employees work remotely under a planned schedule to work and collaborate efficiently.

Pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting support (Korea)

Employees can apply for reduced working hours throughout the entire pregnancy period, and those with high-risk pregnancies are eligible for paid reduced hours during this time. We also provide paid leave for spouses during childbirth for 20 days and offer a 5-day paid leave for infertility treatment. Additionally, we support work-life balance through policies such as 3 days of paid leave for spouses in case of a miscarriage or stillbirth. We operate the largest childcare center in Korea and have implemented a reboarding program that provides training, mentoring, and the option of telecommuting to support employees returning from parental leave.

Flexibility at work (Korea)

We operate a total of eight flexible workplaces, including three off-site office spaces in Seocho Building (Seoul), ABL Tower (Daegu), Mirae Asset Place (Bundang) and five on-site work-spaces in Digital City (Suwon), Samsung Future Technology Campus (Suwon), Seoul R&D Campus (Seoul), Smart City (Gumi), and Green City (Gwangju).

Welfare Benefits

We provide welfare benefits to all employees regardless of their employment status, be it hourly or contract-based. Through diverse welfare programs, we strive to improve their quality of life, enhance work satisfaction, boost morale, and motivate their work. In South Korea, we support individual pensions to help employees plan for their retirement and provide educational and medical expenses to support their families. We also offer physical examinations and group insurance services to promote workplace health and safety, as well as an array of selective welfare programs based on individual needs.
