Through our Smart Factory Support Program, we provide manufacturing innovation technologies and know-how to help strengthen the competitiveness and self-sufficiency of domestic Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), regardless of whether they are business partners of Samsung. We have established a dedicated organization of over 170 professionals across a variety of fields (manufacturing, quality, mold, etc.) to support SMEs in innovating their inefficient manufacturing sites, enhancing operational systems, and introducing manufacturing automation for better competitiveness. The program also helps SMEs build self-sufficiency by supporting market expansion, workforce training, and post-project maintenance. Since 2015, we have been supporting 3,452 SMEs through 2025.
Airmajor, a small but strong enterprise based in Incheon, specializes in exporting industrial chillers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers to global companies. In response to the growing global trend that prioritizes sustainable development, the company was confronted with a major obstacle: complying with new export regulations mandating refrigerants with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 700 or less. To handle these new refrigerants safely, Airmajor needed to completely rebuild everything from the factory layout to the placement of manufacturing equipment. Samsung stepped in to support the company by assisting with the design of its new factory, optimizing production line layouts, and helping establish safety facilities to store and manage the new refrigerants safely. As a result, Airmajor was able to increase its maximum monthly production capacity by 93%, creating a foundation to take its business to the next level in the global market.
