Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra | Fold8

In July 2026, Samsung Electronics launched
the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8.
The Ultra model, introduced to the Galaxy Z series for the first time, enhances productivity with its powerful performance and large display, while the Galaxy Z Fold8 features an optimized aspect ratio supported by its new form factor. Additionally, the new devices incorporate a variety of recycled materials. Consistent with the previous model, the models provide seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the launch date.

  • Recycled Materials

    The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8 contain more than 14.4%, 14.9% respectively.

    • Plastic: Plastic in the front case contains 10% recycled plastic.
    • Aluminum: Aluminum in the camera case contains 30% recycled aluminum.
    • Glass: The Flex window contains an average of 10% recycled glass.
    • Rare Earth Elements: Magnets in the speakers and in certain internal components are made of 100% recycled rare earth elements.
    • Steel: Steel in the speaker modules contains at least 40% recycled steel.
    • Copper: Copper foil of main logic boards contains 100% recycled copper.
    • Gold: Bonding wire in the ultra wide camera module contains 100% recycled gold.
    • Cobalt: Cobalt in the batteries is 100% recycled cobalt.
    • Lithium: Lithium in the batteries’ cathode is 100% recycled lithium.
    • Tin: Tin solder in the RFPCB of ultra wide camera module contains 100% recycled tin.
    • Tantalum: Tantalum in certain capacitors of the Galaxy Z Fold8 contains 15% recycled tantalum. (Not applicable to the Ultra model)
  • Packaging
    • The packaging box is made of 100% recycled paper1) material.
  • Software Updates2)
    • The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold8 support seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the initial global launch date.
  • 100% recycled paper was applied to the product package unit box, excluding the internal pulp tray, cover protector, sealing label and shrink vinyl.
  • The timing of OS upgrades and security updates may vary by device model, network provider, and market.
