Interview

Non-IT Graduate, Samsung SW·AI academy For Youth

“When I was an economics major, I gained an interest in programming. So, I spent some time studying it, and by graduation I committed to becoming a developer. Through a friend’s recommendation, I joined SSAFY. When I started at SSAFY, I had never used Java before, but I enrolled in a JAVA class out of curiosity. I think that the courage along with the training support at SSAFY shaped who I am today! If you find what interests you through SSAFY and begin to study it, so long as you don’t neglect your programming studies, I’m confident you’ll be where you want to be when you finish the program!”

Mentor & Mentee

“During my SSAFY training, I had the privilege of being mentored by Samsung employees . I always thought that if I had the opportunity, I’d like to be able to help others like they helped me, and so I got involved in mentoring. With SSAFY mentoring, I’m hoping to become a guide who can help others learn to stand on their own two feet.”

But my mentor helped me fully prepare for the recruitment process, which proved invaluable. Their support ensured I was well-equipped for the recruitment process, ultimately leading to a job offer. I want to say a big thank you to my mentor!”

Interview with Program Manager

“SSAFY brings together young people with diverse majors and career goals. In December 2023, the program reached a milestone as over 5,000 students had graduated in the five years since its inception, fulfilling their dreams of becoming developers. Even students without backgrounds in finance, mobility, and smart factories successfully entered and excelled in these fields against challenging odds. I encourage our employees to also recommend SSAFY to their friends and colleagues, as SSAFY understands the practical worries of young people seeking employment.”
