Our Case

Samsung Electronics employee from Dream Class

Jeong Eun-jin (Employee at Samsung Electronics, Modem Solution Team, System LSI) attended Samsung Dream Class and received tutoring from a college student mentor in 2012 when she was in her third year of middle school. After entering college, she participated in the program as a mentor herself and helped middle school students with their studies. She then joined Samsung Electronics in 2019.

In 2021, she again participated in Samsung Dream Class, this time as an employee mentor to give back to the program that had helped her.

“Back in middle school when I was aspiring to go to a science high school to pursue my dreams, through Samsung Dream Class, I met a mentor who had graduated from a science high school. Thanks to her guidance, I was able to enter a science high school as well,” she said. “I hope more students can pursue their dreams through this program like I had.”

Parent (Father of Haru Baek, Yongnam Middle School, Chungcheongnam-do)

"Samsung Dream Class is so much more than just a tutoring program. Through interacting with university student mentors and friends their own age, it helps students think about their futures and grow their confidence. Instead of feeling burdened by the pressure to excel, my child gained the courage to take on new challenges. Watching my child broaden their perspective and discover their own possibilities through such a great program makes me incredibly thankful as a parent."

Middle School Student Mentee (Gyuwon Hwang, Taean Middle School, Chungcheongnam-do)

“I feel like I took a massive leap toward my dream through the Dream Class camp. The career talks from Samsung employees and the session on the high school credit-based elective system were so helpful. The university major fair, especially, helped me pinpoint my interests and figure out exactly what I want to do. Talking to a university mentor majoring in Political Science and Diplomacy, the field I want to study the most, really expanded my perspective and made my dream feel so much more real. Someday, I want to come back as a mentor to help middle schoolers just like me.”

Interview

University Student Mentor (Junui Jeon, Seoul National University)

“Since I actually attended the Dream Class camp as a mentee back in middle school, I could see that today's students share that exact same desire to connect. Watching mentees who were initially shy gradually open up and come to me with all kinds of questions made me realize that genuine conversation and empathy can truly break down the walls between a mentor and a mentee.”
