Technology Support
Signed a four-way technology agreement between the Commercializations Promotion Agency for R&D Outcomes (COMPA), the Korea Patent Strategy Development Institute (KISTA), and the Samsung Suppliers Association to support the discovery, transfer, and commercialization of technologies deemed “excellent” in South Korea. The focus of this agreement is on eco-conscious and next-generation solutions for small and medium-sized suppliers. We also co-hosted the "Advanced Technology Trans Fair" in September 2024 to share Samsung Electronics’ digital twin manufacturing trends and government R&D projects.
Between 2013 and 2021, we raised a total of KRW 20 billion (USD 14.8 million) in matching funds through participation in the Technology Development Based on Private-Public Joint Investment project from Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups. This provided support for 32 suppliers, with another KRW 30 billion (USD 22.1 million) in funding raised in 2024 to be utilized in the following five years and KRW 5.7 billion (USD 3.8 million) provided to eight suppliers in 2024. Cumulative support from 2022 to 2024 amounted to KRW 15.9 billion (USD 10.7 million) and was provided to 21 suppliers.
Transferred 196 patents free of charge in 2024, bringing the cumulative total to around 2,300 patents.
