Risk Assessment and Management of Our Suppliers

Amendment to the basic transaction agreement for suppliers
  • We provide suppliers with a list of our regulated substances, which includes 2 prohibited substances and 23 restricted ones, along with their respective handling criteria.
  • If a supplier is found to be responsible for a significant violation, Samsung Electronics reserves the right to partially or fully terminate the supplier contract to avoid any legal issues.
Risk assessment for suppliers

We evaluated the accident prevention capacity of our suppliers in the 2025 comprehensive EHS capacity evaluation and reflected the results in the supplier selection process.

Environment and safety risk management

We help our suppliers identify and eliminate risk factors by supporting the right to work suspension system, providing a risk assessment specialist training course, and offering consulting on the adequacy and implementation of their risk assessments. Through this training program, 351 DX Division and 2,215 DS Division employees were trained in 2025 as experts capable of identifying and mitigating high-risk hazards.

Moreover, to enhance supplier safety, we operate a Permit-to-Work system alongside our support programs. Through these initiatives, we identify and mitigate potential on-site hazards while empowering suppliers to fully internalize robust safety management systems.

Disseminating best practices
  • Supplier Safety Management Day

DS Division held its Supplier Safety Management Day aimed at improving suppliers' safety capabilities by sharing and disseminating best practices in risk assessment. The event featured safety equipment showcases and award presentations, alongside activities designed to help suppliers establish a robust safety culture and build safer working environments.

  • EHS Innovation Day

DX Division hosts the EHS Innovation Day to bolster our suppliers’ environment, health, and safety capabilities. In 2025, the event took place both at our TSE-P subsidiary in Thailand and in South Korea, where five suppliers from each location shared outstanding improvement cases. Best practices selected through a public competition were also showcased on-site, giving participants the opportunity to benchmark and learn from one another.

Health and wellness centers for our suppliers

We operate health and wellness centers at each of our business sites for our suppliers. At these centers, we offer 1:1 health consultations and personalized physical exercise programs to help employees prevent brain and cardiovascular diseases and musculoskeletal disorders.

Environment and Safety Academy for our suppliers

We have offered environment and safety training courses at the Environment and Safety Academy for DS Division Suppliers in Giheung and Cheonan since 2019 and Pyeongtaek since 2022.

As of 2025, our Giheung, Pyeongtaek, and Cheonan Academies provided training to 55,256 individuals through a total of 17 courses, including safety certification and capacity-building programs. By expanding our curricula to meet the needs of our suppliers, we are helping them enhance their workplace safety standards and establish their own self-regulated safety systems.

Collaborative Safety Initiative

We participate in the Collaborative Safety Initiative for large and small-to-medium enterprises, hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. This program aims to prevent industrial accidents and enhance health and safety standards for our suppliers and local communities. In 2025, 23 DS Division suppliers at our Pyeongtaek site engaged in this program, along with 14 suppliers at our Onyang site. For the participants, we offered consulting to establish their risk assessment systems as well as safety and health standards. This initiative also included securing safety equipment, providing safety guidebooks, and offering specialized health and safety training led by external experts.

Support for obtaining Occupational Health and Safety Management certifications

We support our suppliers in obtaining Occupational Health and Safety Management certifications (ISO 45001, KOSHA-MS).
