In accordance with the amended Occupational Safety and Health Act, we fulfill our obligation to report and obtain board approval on health and safety matters annually. The Sustainability Committee, established under the Board of Directors, supports the Board in providing more focused oversight of sustainability issues. The Committee reviews the company’s sustainability directions and ensures that health and safety matters are treated as an essential part of business decision-making processes.
We have established a health and safety management system for each division, continuously identifying potential hazards and assessing associated risks. In DX Division, the Head of the Global EHS Office serves as the Chief Safety Officer (CSO), while in DS Division, this role is held by the Head of Global Manufacturing & Infrastructure, both of whom are committed to ensuring the safety and health of all employees.
Dedicated teams under the Global EHS Office and the EHS Center act as the control tower for health and safety issues. Moreover, separate safety and health teams are established at each business site to ensure effective management of safety and health.
To achieve our primary goal of maintaining workplaces free of major accidents, Samsung Electronics is dedicated to fulfilling our duties and responsibilities. We strive to establish a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, in line with our management principles that emphasize safety and health. To strengthen our accident prevention system, we have set the number of major accidents and Lost Time Injury Rate (LTIR) as key indicators and have established the goal of achieving zero major accidents and a world-class LTIR by 2030. To achieve this, we will continuously develop and implement safety and health action plans.
