Samsung GALAXY S3 cannot access the Internet via Wi-Fi. How to fix the problem?

Your phone can search nearby Wi-Fi access points and let you choose a Wi-Fi to connect. After gaining access to a Wi-Fi connected to the Internet, you can surf web pages, chat with friends and send/receive emails. Follow the steps below to connect to a Wi-Fi:



1) Tap Apps when the phone is in standby mode.

 

  
2) Tap Settings.

 

  

3) Drag the Wi-Fi switch to the right and turn it to green. 
 

  
4) After Wi-Fi feature is activated, a list of nearby Wi-Fi access points will be displayed on the screen. Tap the one you want to connect.

 

  

5) Enter the password when prompted and tap Connect.

 

If your phone still cannot access the Internet after getting connected with a Wi-Fi, you can try to fix the problem following the steps below:

1) Make sure the wireless router is functioning normally and sending out correct signal. Note that the password for connecting to a Wi-Fi is a combination of 8 or more numbers and characters.

2) Check whether the signal sent out by the router is supported by your phone (i.e. 802.11g/b/n).

3) Check whether the router’s settings are correct by consulting its instruction or consulting with the customer service personnel of the vendor.

4) Restart your phone and the wireless router.

5) Check the accessibility of the router using another Wi-Fi-enabled device or change a router to check accessibility.

6) If you used another Wi-Fi AP to access the Internet before, you are advised to tap the previous AP and select Forget Network before searching the new AP. Tap the new AP and enter the password to get connected (In this example, the previous AP is “AndroidAP”)
