#TeamGalaxy's own Ninja recently stopped by our Samsung 837 experience
space in New York City to take on iKON and more challengers in an
epic Fortnite throwdown. We took the opportunity to get his thoughts on the
current state of gaming and what someone who wants to follow his path
should focus on.

What’s the biggest difference you notice between gaming culture 10 years ago versus today and the future?

The community is so much more vocal and has a very valuable opinion on how the game is going to be updated and actually come out. A lot of games nowadays are doing betas and alphas because they want to get people's feedback. Ten years ago, a lot of the developers said, “This is the game, this is what you're going to get. And if you don't like it, buy another game."

I really think the games that fail the most right now are the ones who just completely ignore what their players, streamers, content creators and YouTubers really have feedback on.

“The biggest thing that stands out—one million percent—is community-driven feedback.”

How can young gamers convince their parents that gaming is about more than high scores?

Give it one or two more years, but it’s still not quite yet like, "Oh, my son is the
best football player on the team, but he’s not doing well in school." Give it a
couple more years. If you want to be a streamer, a YouTuber, a gamer—a top
professional player—do well in school. Growing up I bargained all the time:
"Mom, I'll clean for two hours, I'll do as many chores as you want, if give me
two more hours of gaming."

What's your advice for how to become a professional gamer?

Be entertaining. Be funnier than someone else. Pick someone who you look up to and if you think you’re funny, and better than them, then… do it. And be that. Make your content better than the person you aspire to be, or anyone for that matter.

“5G is a huge part of my future right now. I’m actually super excited to see where it goes.”

How do you think 5G is going to change the scene?

Dude, I'm excited. We're actually talking about mobile gaming experiences with 5G while traveling to Ninja events and stuff like that. So 5G is a huge part of my future right now, so I'm super excited to see where it goes. I haven't experienced it yet so the buildup is insane and I just can’t wait. It’s here dude, I’m ready.

Gaming is not going anywhere. It's in its prime, and it's only going to get better.
