Why is Animated photo not opening properly in the Gallery of Samsung Galaxy S4(GT-I9500)?

Last Update Date : Mar 21. 2018

Animated Photo mode in Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) is one of the unique modes in the device that can create a picture containing selected moving objects by animating parts of the picture into animated GIFs.
The reason of using an animated GIF instead of a video sometimes is the file size. In addition when you put a video in a webpage, quite often some users cannot play it. But an animated GIF does not suffer from this issue because most browsers support it out of box.

When viewed via gallery, the animated photo shows the movements of the original saved image. But in the slideshow, the static thumbnail photo will be shown and so without movement although the source picture is an Animated Photo. It is completely normal and not a cause of worry as this is the default property of Android enabled Samsung Smartphones.
