The Triathlon of Havana grows with Samsung
February 27 - Cuba witnessed the energy of competitors from 35 countries that gathered to participate in the third edition of the Havana Triathlon, where the Colombian athlete, Carlos Javier Quinchara was the winner of the elite sprint, with a time of 55:29 minutes and in the female category, the northamerican Katilin Donner, with a time of 1 hour with 2 minutes.
The first places of the competition, received a Samsung Galaxy S7, from the main sponsor, Samsung Electronics Latin America, that for second consecutive year is part of one of the most emblematic sporting events in the region.
Claudia Aguilar, Marketing Director of Samsung said: "For us it is a great honor to participate as sponsors of the Triathlon of Havana, an activity that encourages sport and highlights the potential of Cuba as the venue for this type of activities."
José Carrasco, director of the Havana Triathlon, added that "For this edition of 2017 a quality leap was already taking place, as one of the official sponsors of the ITU, Samsung, has been a leading player. Thanks to its presence we improved the infrastructure and there was an increase in level of prizes with technological equipment for the winners."
This year the Triathlon of La Havana expected to have 750 participants, but thanks to the great reception that has had this event, at the end participated more than 800 competitors from 35 countries.
During the last decade, Samsung has worked closely with Cuba to be present in large projects that contribute to society and allow its innovative technologies and ideas to reach the community.
The Havana Triathlon, which is part of the official calendar of the International Triathlon Union (ITU), was largely developed at Hemingway Marina and toured several of the main avenues of the Cuban capital. Samsung uses its network and global innovation to create positive change for people around the world, which helps them to have a better life and full of possibilities.
