How to install a Samsung side by side refrigerator

It is important to place your refrigerator to the proper location for product efficiency. Also, it may happen to detach or reverse the door of your refrigerator for moving, repairing, or else. Note: 

  • The refrigerator designs shown in this video may differ from the type and model you have.
  • Please read thoroughly all the important warnings and safety instructions written in the user manual.
  • Be careful not to injure yourself during procedure.
  • Where possible and by law an electrical safety test should be conducted prior to powering it on.

Correct installation location

1. Solid, level surface with no carpet

2. Good ventilated location

3. Adequate location allowing for opening and closing the doors

Incorrect installation location

1. Humid location

2. Near heat source

3. Location affected by direct sunlight

Note: Recommended room temperature range is between 5 °C and 43 °C.

Allowing sufficient space

1. Allow for a minimum of 10cm space on both sides (left and right) of the refrigerator to be installed.

2. Allow for a minimum of 5cm of free space above the top of refrigerator to be installed.

Note: The measurements may differ depending on the measuring method is used.

3. More space is required than the actual size of the refrigerator to operate the doors. 

4. Check size, type and model of your refrigerator.

5. Allow at least a minimum of 5cm of free space from the wall to back of the refrigerator.

Note: The measurements may differ depending on the measuring method is used.

If there is a need to move the refrigerator to an installation location where the access is a narrow, please follow the instructions on 'how to remove and reassemble the refrigerator doors'.

Note: 

  • For safety reasons, it is highly recommended for two or more people to handle any work required during the installation procedure.
  • There is a danger the doors may fall off or over and get damaged during any of these steps.
  • To prevent accidents, exercise extreme caution when performing these steps.

Required Tools (Not provided)

1. Philips screwdriver

2. Flat-blade screwdriver

3. Socket wrench (10 mm)

4. Allen wrench (4 mm / 5 mm)

5. Electric drill

Note: Tools are not provided with the refrigerator.

To prevent floor damage

1. For safety reasons it is recommended for two or more people to handle any work required during the installation procedure.

2. To prevent floor damage it’s recommended you protect the floor before any work is carried out. (rug or towel, box, etc.)

Disconnect the water supply line
1. From the bottom rear side of the refrigerator, pull out the water line to the front.

2. To disconnect the hoses, press and hold the transparent coupler and detach the water hose.

Note: Waterline location may differ depending on the type of model you have.

Unscrew the hinge covers and remove the hinges
1. Using a Phillips screwdriver unscrew the hinge covers on the top of the left door. 

2. Remove the hinge cover. 

3. Disconnect the electrical connector.

4. Gently lift the clamp.

5. Pull the clamp to remove hinge.

6. Open the door by 90 degrees. 

7. While holding the door, remove the hinge.

Note:

  • There is a danger the doors may fall off or over and get damaged during any of these steps. 
  • For safety reasons it is highly recommended for two or more people to handle any work required during the installation procedure.

8. Gently lift up the left door to remove.

9. Take care when pulling out the water line hose. 

Note: There is a danger the doors may fall off or over and get damaged during any of these steps. 

10. Gently lay out the removed door on to the protected floor. 

Note: For safety reasons it is recommended for two or more people handle the procedure.

Detach the right-side door 
1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the hinge covers on the top of the right door. 

2. Remove the hinge cover. 

3. Disconnect the electrical connector.

4. Gently lift the clamp.

5. Pull the clamp to remove hinge.

6. Open the door 90 degrees. While holding the door, remove the hinge and detach the door.

Note: There is a danger the doors may fall off or over and get damaged during any of these steps. 

7. Gently lay out the removed door on to the protected floor. 

Note: For safety reasons it is recommended for two or more people to handle the procedure.

Detach the right-bottom side door
1. Unscrew the center hinge with Allen wrench.

2. Unscrew the center hinge using suitable screwdriver.

3. Remove the center hinge from the door. 

4. Gently lift the door and detach. 

5. Gently lay out the removed door on to the protected floor. 

Note: 

  • Take extra care not to injure yourself during procedure. 
  • For safety reasons it is recommended for two or more people to handle the procedure.

Place the refrigerator close to the location where you would like to set and use. Take extra care not to scratch the floor or side walls when you are moving the refrigerator. 

Note: For safety reasons it is recommended for two or more people to handle the procedure.

Reassemble the right-bottom side door 

1. Slide the Fridge Hinge into the fixing slot and press it down so that it is aligned with the hole in the door.

2. Insert the center hinge on top of the bottom door.

3. Screw the center hinge using the Allen wrench.

4. Once the hinge is in place, using a suitable screwdriver fit and tighten the hinge outer locking screw.

5. Slide the Fridge Hinge into the fixing slot and press it down so that it is aligned with the hole in the door.

6. Gently push the door to attach.

7. Using a suitable screwdriver screw the hinge covers on the top of the right door.

8. Push the hinge to attach.

Note: Take extra care not to injure yourself during procedure.

9. Connect the electrical connector.

10. Cover the hinge with the hinge cover.

Reassemble the left side door
1. Insert the door into the lower hinge hole, and slide the door in.

2. Ensure that the water feed hoses under the door is well aligned into the lower hinge hole.

Note: For safety reasons it is recommended for two or more people to handle the procedure.

3. Reassemble the hinge and close the door.

4. Gently push the clamp to attach the hinge. 

5. Connect the electrical connector.

6. Cover the hinge with the hinge cover.

7. Use a suitable screwdriver to screw the top hinge cover.

8. To connect the hoses, push the transparent coupler into the same color of the water hose.

  • To prevent water leaks, each water hose must be inserted fully to the center of the transparent coupler.
  • After reconnecting the water hoses, push them under the cabinet and arrange them on the hook.

Attach the Spacer
1. Open the door and locate the provided spacer.

2. Unpack the spacer and attach it to the rear of the refrigerator as shown. 

Note: Attach the spacer for applicable models only.

Moving a refrigerator may cause damage to the floor. Use of a rug or box on the floor is recommended to prevent damage. It is recommended for two or more people to carry a refrigerator holding both sides.

Leveling

Place a level on the top of the refrigerator and check the leveling. If the level is incorrect, please follow the next steps.

Adjust the door height as well as the door gap
1. Open the door and take out the provided nuts and spanner.

2. Locate the two nuts on the front bottom of the door. 

3. With a spanner, turn the clamp nut clockwise to loosen.

  • To raise the door, turn the height nut counterclockwise.
  • To lower the door, turn the height nut clockwise.

4. When complete, tighten the clamp nut by turning it counterclockwise.

5. Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the leveler of the fridge-side front leg. 

6. Turn the leveler clockwise to raise or turn it counterclockwise to lower. 

7. Place a level on the top of the refrigerator and recheck the leveling. 

 

Plug the power cord to turn the refrigerator on.

Note: Where possible and by law an electrical safety test should be conducted prior to powering it on.

Press the button of the temperature control panel to check the operation. Open the doors to check the interior lights up.

Note: For optimum refrigerator performance, it is recommended to run the refrigerator for 1hr at the lowest settings before selecting your desired temperature settings.

Complete the installation.
